Sister Disciples of the Divine Master
The Community of Auckland, New Zealand
“In 1908, I began to pray and to have prayers said that a religious family might come into being, a family marked by a hidden life and dedicated to Adoration, to Priestly service and to Liturgy. A family which would completely belong to Jesus the Divine Master.”
– Beato G.Alberone
We are a religious congregation founded by Blessed James Alberione in Alba(Italy) on 10 February 1924, liturgical memorial of St. Scolastica. Our Congregation, Disciples of the Divine Master(Pie Discepole del Divin Maestro – Latin, Literally, Pious Disciples of the Divine Master – PDDM). Is the third institute of the Pauline Family. We are an international congregation in 31 countries spread throughout the world.
In 1976, the sisters arrived from Australia in the Auckland diocese, in May 2006, the Community of Auckland was ceded to Korea Province, Since May 2009, this community belonged definitely to province of Korea/New Zealand.
By the sacrament of baptism we are already constituted temples of the Holy Spirit; with the religious consecration we are called the commit ourselves to the constant journey of discipleship, until we become configured with Jesus Christ, our Divine Master, in the example of St. Paul: “I live now, not I, but Christ lives in me”(cf.Gal. 2,20) and under the protection of Mary, Queen of Apostles. Like Mary, Mother of God and the women of the Gospel, transformed by their meeting with the Risen Lord, the Beauty which saves the world, we are sent as apostles with the Apostles to proclaim, celebrate and serve him. In the spirit of the Apostle Paul, who made himself all things to all people, we judiciously welcome the values and traditions of different nations and we commit ourselves to ecumenical and inter-religious dialogue for the proclamation of the newness of the Gospel.
We are consecrated women who live a contemplative-apostolic life centred on the Eucharist. We are formed as disciples of Jesus Master, to bear personal and community witness to Him. Like Mary and the women of the Gospel, transformed by their meeting with the Risen Lord, we are sent as apostles to proclaim, celebrate and serve Jesus the Divine Master, the Way, the Truth and the Life through the ministries that arise from our love for Jesus ‘living tin the Eucharist, in the Priesthood and in the Church’
Our Eucharistic experience is transformed into concrete testimony of life in an austere and dignified service responsive to the needs of the local churches. This impels us to help and contrivute in the pastoral development of the Church : promoting priestly vocations and collaborating in their formation : assisting and accompanying the priests in the exercise of their ministry, in their difficult moments and in their old age. We have special concern for the priests and religious, especially those living in situations of poverty, sickness and old age. We also offer suffrages for them after death.

Living and active members of the Church, we work to help people nourish their relationship with the Lord. We creatively place at the service of the Liturgy, the richness of various artistic expressions: painting, sculpture, architecture, music, embroidery and other handicrafts in order that prayer may be characterized by beauty and dignity. We render services in in terms of liturgical catechesis and formation, biblical-liturgical animations, always in view of drawing people closer to the Lord.
